We took a Physically distanced walk at the reservoir, wearing our facemasks.
It was the first time Dan had off from work when it wasn’t pouring down rain.
Before the parking permit accord with the local families, Dan and Ben street parked here and caught a bass, possibly before Matt was born, so a long time ago.
Our neighbor, Gary the naturalist brought us here for a hike in December on a morning that was 10 degrees F. He’d gotten his special parking sticker, but there were no other cars (it was SO cold.) But we saw black beetles swimming under the ice in the vernal pools, where the decaying leaves provide heat.
I’d gotten a special parking sticker too, but we lost it for a few months.
Sunday was sunny and warm. The parking lot was crammed. But we squeezed in. Parking Permit for the win!
I thought the small path we were on was only for hikers, but stepped aside when I heard the ATVs coming. I guess they can roll right over logs in the trail; pretty cool.
I’ve been tested negative for Covid19, the pleurisy I had was just pleurisy. So part of my treatment was hiking, the stirred up breathing and heart rate is supposed to kick it into healing.
It’s so nice to be feeling well again.
The woods were so pretty in the sunshine, in a season sunshine is appreciated.
Walking briskly in a facemask isn’t really comfortable. I’m not sure we are doing anyone any good, I hope so. At least I remember not to rub my eyes? Maybe?
The dogs seem sad no one is petting them. A friendly, tail wagging pit bull licked my hand in passing. I just washed my hands a little longer when I got home.
It’s funny what fabric Mom and I had on stash, green seems to be a favorite. Dan is the only one with any blue. I think we send all the pink ones to the hospital, it wound up being a 3 generation job, M and K pinned and pressed, I sewed until I realized that I really needed to send my sewing machine into be serviced. Mom finished up for me.
God bless you all.
