This Saturday was M’s Jr. F.I.R.S.T. Lego League Expo. He and his partner have studied how something travels to their house (water), created a Lego Model of it’s journey, and a board to show their research.
We waited to assemble the trifold board until we reached the Expo, because that way it could travel flat.
Here is the team, the coaches, and little sister mascots.
The boys proved that Lego is NOT waterproof, so we used blue pips symbolically.
We had a while before judging, so we hung out in the cafeteria eating granola bars and playing board games.
I wasn’t there when the judges asked the boys questions, but here are DH’s pictures of the participation awards
Apparently the judges asked each child What was hardest, and What was most fun?
M’s partner P said the model was most fun,
and the written board the hardest.
M said the tour of the water treatment plant was the most fun,
and the written board the hardest.
So the adults asked each other this too.
I said seeing M and P make friends was the most fun,
and cleaning the house on time for meetings was the hardest.
