The big idea is swimming along. I decided that I want crisscrossing ribbings like in "Around the Wrist", to make an elongated hexagonal lozenge on the back of the hand. Then I dug through my copies of Racinet’s Full-Color picture Sourcebook of Historic Ornament I and II.
I found a floral motif from Mughal India, simplified the vines behind a flower, and am in the process of charting it. So far my messy swatch has me giggly with joy! I’m using a leaf from the tip of one of Barbara Walker’s charted patterns, the fronds one, to tip my vines. I am going to either crochet a rose for the middle, or use a pettite point knitted one, I’m not sure which yet, I’ll have to block them and see which is prettier on the swatch.
Oh, I’m so excited! Now, if only my carpal tunnels stay good.
