I’m so excited! There is a free downloadable font from Knitter’s Magazine that lets you type your knitting chart on a word processor.
And, there is a site that is gathering swatches and comments for all of the patterns in the various Barbara G Walker treasuries! It’s called the Walker treasury Project.
Here is a pdf of a pattern I made up in college to put around the border of a cabled tam, so you can print it out if you want it away from your computer. DH just transformed it into a JPG for me, so here it is
I have also used in in the middle of ribbing
for my mittens,
it draws in a bit, so it’s important to swatch. I think it matches the Open Chain Cable from Barbara G Walker’s Second Treasury of Knitting Patterns. Only it runs horizontally, not vertically.
I’ve been meaning to make a fair copy of this available since 1989!
