The ripe read pepper in the fruit basket looked so pretty. Perhaps the oatmeal did not. K asked for it with please and did not whine when I equivocated, so I got out my cutting board and knife, and gave her sliced red pepper and hothouse tomato for breakfast. I was happy that she ate most of the red pepper. Hot house tomatoes are not quiet real. So I wound up eating them. Funny breakfast.
I love sweet red peppers and wish my kids would eat them!
of course, she didn’t finish it…
I remember reading something once about how little kids don’t understand the concept of “breakfast food” vs “dinner food” – that’s impossed by us adults. My boys can each eat a whole pepper too, although they’ve never asked for it for breakfast :)
I’ve heard that the idea of ‘breakfast foods” were hard for cereal manufacturers to introduce.
Kalista loves red peppers. She even will eat roasted red bell peppers for a snack. She ate 1/2 can of black olives while her homemade chocolate cookie sat right next to her. She didn’t touch the cookie! Love to see that!!
Well, you know her cousin’s first full sentence was “Momma, I want olives.”
Actually, her choice sounds good to me…I had leftover chicken tamale casserole for the last two mornings!
chicken tamale casserole sounds pretty good to me for any meal
