Today I let the kids watch videos and vege while I wrote out our educational goals for this month and put as many books as the library would allow on reserve on my card. Coffee break here – I just had to re-type reserve three times. We will be flying from Confucius to Massada – I ran out of spaces to reserve books at Julius Ceasar. But my bookmark is in the teacher’s manual to remind me to put more on reserve soon. See why I don’t mind paying library fines? Imagine I’d just ordered that many books from Amazon.
B and I are trying another “Organise the Independent Work” System. This time, instead of movable cards, I gave him a list of assignments and when they are due. It was much faster for me to make.
M had his palate extending apparatus installed this morning – eating is frustrating. I asked him on the way home from the orthodontist if he knew what he did to keep calm at the dentist, because all the technicians were telling me how unusually calm he was…and by the way, could he use the same technique on math work sheets?
He explained that pain doen’t happen to bother him as much as frustration.
I can relate, I’d much rather hurt than be confused or embarrassed.
Anyway, he is playing Tux Math at the moment for his arithmetic practice, so the battle of “The math page isn’t perfect,” can wait for a while.
Time to discipline K, she just hit M.
Tonight is the Eagle’s Wings Coop planning meeting – we will decide which classes to teach, who will teach them, and who will help out in them, hopefully giving every age group we are likely to have a place to be, and not using more classroom space than we actually have. Would be nice if we all get home before 10PM too, but there is no guarantee of that.
We finished by 8:45!
