Yesterday at ‘circle time’ as the kids ate tea and toast, I read the chapter from the Thinking Toolbox on “How to be a Keen Observer.” The exercises were a group of questions that they weren’t to answer directly, but to come up with a method in order to answer them.
“How many hairs are on your head?” I read.
B and I talked about using a sample and estimating, the boys suggested counting the hairs that were cut off in a hair cut, when M exclaimed:
“Cut them all off, then say you have ZERO hairs!”
Well, yeah, that would work too…
