Fragments

The boys were able to earn $5 each today cleaning out the car – DH thought I was over generous on their pay since they helped their sister and I make the mess in the first place.

Last night I won my first ever game of Carcasonne.

While the boys and I were playing, DH asked K what she was doing at Mommy’s craft desk?  “I making mess, Daddy, with beads.”

When B went to the library today, the circulation librarians told him he had a lot of books in on reserve, and he did, the Page had given our family its own shelf.  I helped him become notorious though: half the pile was of math readers for this unit of Living Math.

I surprised myself yesterday by my own joy at having a pair of jeans to mend.  I thought at first it meant that I have fully embraced frugality, but then I realized it’s because my kids need better shopping manners, and I wasn’t looking forward to jeans shopping with them in tow.

I also nixed a shopping trip for a birthday present for Baby B soon to be aged 2, by making her a gauze dress up skirt to twirl around in, out of the left overs of K’s wings.  But this afternoon K cut a hole in the skirt in an excess of scissor joy, and now the guys are out shopping.  DH just phoned to ask if I knew if Baby B has a copy of “Blueberries for Sal” or not.  If Baby B’s parents are reading my blog, play dumb.
