We had hamburgers for dinner last night, a quick meal before prayer meeting, after getting the tomatoes transplanted into our community garden plot. K kept pointing to the veggie topping plate, and I kept handing her leaf lettuce. After a few go-arounds, I realized that she wasn’t interested in the lettuce(clue: there were lettuce leaves with one bite taken out on the floor). I tried an onion slice. She ate all of it.
Then she pointed again and asked, "Un yun?" and ate three more.
This morning at breakfast, she asked for "un yun?" again, I still had some from the night before, so she had onion, cheerios and raisens for breakfast, with milk.
Yesterday, she had a radish with lunch too. Maybe she’ll eat my turnips when they come in the CSA box this fall. That’s my last veggitable to conquer, I now enjoy Brussel Sprouts and radishes.
