I was convinced that I could never scrapbook, so until I started homeschooling and needed to make a portfolio, I ignored the cool isles of pretty stuff in Michaels. One night my husband was watching the kids so I could go out by myself, and I was arrested by a display of eyelet setting tools. OH they were cool, like sewing notions.
But, I said to myself, I can’t scrapbook, so I walked further down the isle and continued the conversation with myself: Why can’t I scrapbook? I tried it and it didn’t work out. When was that? When I was in 3rd grade. Third grade (!)I decided it was time to try again, walked over to the magazine rack, and saw Simple Scrapbooks. Oh, now there was a magazine to get me started! And it was. I’ve been scrapping simply and happily for 6 years now, though now I set my eyelets with my crop-o-dile big bite (the one DH gave me for Christmas)
Thank you Stacy Julian.
I know that when my subscription to Simple Scrapbooks merges with Creating Keepsakes, I’ll enjoy it too, but I feel a little blue that the inspiring ladies who helped me organize B’s portfolios, M’s birthday books (created when he asked me,’ Where are the pictures where M is the baby?") and soon, I hope, soon, some cute layouts about K, without spending an arm and a leg or obscuring the story in frou frou (unless I wanted to) is, well, sigh.
At least I have the back issues.
Christine — thank you for your kind words. Thank you for picking up that first issue of Simple. I am so happy you are scrapbooking! I am working on something that will continue to bring you the simple philosophy!!

I like Simple Scrapbooks, too. My friend got me a subscription for my birthday one year. I have done a few things, but blogging has about taken over my scrapbooking time. And I guess that's okay. I'm recording now. I'll work on all the before nows later. ;)
And wow! You got a comment from Stacy Julian! Her books are my favorite.
Peace to you,
Renae
