The baby woke up at 5:15, giggly, hungry, and busy. After she nursed, and got some rice cereal, she rubbed her eyes, and went back to bed. M crawled into our bed next, then wailed at the light when DH got dressed. He calmed down, asked if he could eat breakfast in the dim of his bed, and (I don’t actually know why) I said, sure. I made him his favorite breakfast (scrambled eggs with catchup) made B his favorite breakfast of toast, and brought it to them on rusty cookie sheets with a rim. I usually save those cookie sheets for LEGO projects that need to be picked up quickly, but today they are protecting the bedsheets.
The boys are still reading or sleeping. I’ve had a chance to read my e-mails, drink more coffee and think about my Friday writing class.
I’ve been feeling lately like I’ve bricked myself into a too rigorous schedule. I’m glad it’s raining and sleepy today.
I think I’ll bring the Story of the World into their room and read to them while they color, that’s productive AND cozy.
