Before I can sew for the boy’s room, I need to fix the lining of my non-maternity coat that I’ll get to wear in 6 weeks (I hope). Its a red toggle coat that is fun and practical, but not quite wind resistant, and the lining is shot in the sleeves.
I bought extra thinsulate when I ordered the interlinging for my cloak, so I have interlining to add, today I bought non-static lining for it too.
Here it is inside out on my grandmother’s dress form.
As you can see, the lining ripped out at the mid shoulder and bum, so I’ll need to give it some ease there, also at the underarm, maybe a gusset for motion? Surprisingly it did not rip across the bicept, where linings usually give on me. I have those large lady upper arms that LM Montgomery usually had her too slender heroines admire – thanks LM!
Least anyone wonder why the prospect of turning this room into the boys room before the end of the month has me nervous, here is the room- some of the mess is because of creative projects still ongoing, some is because of interrupted sorting and purging, some from shopping trips, but it’s still a daunting project to me!
