Well, Operation Move Rooms continues, even though it is the day after Christmas – if DH and Mom have to go back to work, and since we don’t want to do lessons or have bored little boys (AKA potentially destructive little boys) we are working on the house.
We brought home the presents yesterday in the same laundry basket we’d brought them over to Mom’s house in, but had to use 3 large shopping bags for the extras. Everything did fit in the closets, but only B’s room has any extra space. So much for getting ahead of the move. And Mommom and Daddad haven’t yet added their packages to the pile. Oh Well. Think how crowded it would have been if we hadn’t sorted and purged last week.
I think I "lead cleaning right," this morning. I walked around the house with my cute new notebook that says, "If the children are alive at the end of the day, then I’ve done my job." and listed things that were not right about each room. Then I set goals, took a bath, and called the boys to a meeting. I told them we were going to set the timer, and put on nice music. Then we were all together going to work on each of their rooms, and the living room, until the timer went off and it was time to have morning snack and go shopping. We got all three rooms tidied up in 30 min, with good moral.
After that we did go Christmas shopping for the Boy’s presents for their grandparents they haven’t seen yet, one store wasn’t open until 12 noon, so we will go back tomorrow. They asked for no presents this year, but I’d already promised the boys they could buy them presents, so maybe this is cheating.
Cyberchase just ended, so the boys have been sent to finish the Lego projects they were working on. I don’t have to make dinner tonight, because we head over to Grandma’s house to eat more yummy turkey dinner. I need to go sweep the kitchen in case I can find the missing Lego pieces – 5 min after opening the box and there are missing pieces to find!
The sky is purply pink near the edges, perhaps from sunset, perhaps from possible snow. I’m glad we have 12 more min of daylight since the winter solstace. I think I can feel those 12 min lightening up my attitude.
